People: Approvals, Directory & Roles
Why this page exists
Three related jobs live here: letting new sign-ups in, keeping the full member record straight (not the trimmed-down public Directory — the real thing, with everyone's status and contact info), and deciding who else gets admin power and over which ministry.
Who can do this
Approving new sign-ups
Every new registration lands in Admin → Pending before it can sign in for real.
Tiffany Grant (alum)
tiffany.grant@example.com · Class of 2016
Social Worker, State of Michigan
- 1Review what they submitted — name, role, contact, and (for alumni) grad year and work.
- 2Approve to let them in, or Reject if it doesn't check out.
The full Directory (admin view)
Admin → Directoryis not the public Directory — it's every person on the network regardless of what they've chosen to share, with filters for role, status, profession, degree, grad year, and marital status. Click a name to open their full record.
Editing a person & granting roles
Opening someone from the admin Directory gets you:
- 1Their full record — edit any field, change their role (student/alum/admin) or status (active/inactive), add internal notes.
- 2Ministry roles— grant them team lead, coordinator, or admin authority within one or more of Impact, New Life, or BSCF Events. This is separate from the site-wide admin role and is how someone becomes able to manage a ministry's events/teams without full site access.
- 3Delete— permanently removes the person and everything tied to them (offers, needs, matches). There's no undo, so this is for real mistakes or duplicate accounts, not routine offboarding — deactivating (status → inactive) is the reversible option.
