Joining BSCF Network
Why this page exists
BSCF Network isn't open to the general public — it's alumni, current students, and Andrews faculty and staff, because the whole point is a directory, a mentoring system, and a calendar that people can trust is really theirs. Signing up is how you get an account; approval is how BSCF makes sure the person joining actually belongs here.
What you need first: a Google account
There are no passwords to create or remember here — you sign in with Google. Your @andrews.edu address works (Andrews runs on Google), and so does any personal Gmail.
Don't have either? You can create a Google account using an email address you already own — it does not have to be a Gmail address. Go to accounts.google.com/signup and choose “Use your existing email instead”. Your Yahoo, Outlook, or work address then becomes your sign-in.
How to sign up
- 1Go to the site and click Join in the top right.
- 2You'll be asked to sign in with Google first, before any form. This is deliberate — it makes sure the email on your record is one you can actually sign in with later.
- 3Fill in the rest: your name, whether you're an alum or a current student, graduation year, degree and program, where you live, and — for alumni — your current work. Your email is already filled in and can't be edited. Do this in one sitting— the form isn't saved as you go.
- 4Press Submit registration. This is the moment your account is actually created — it's then in “pending review” until an admin acts on it.
- 5A BSCF admin approves (or rejects) your registration from their Pending sign-ups queue. Once approved, signing in takes you straight into the site.

Signing in is not the same as joining
This trips people up, so it's worth stating plainly: signing in with Google only tells us who you are. It does not create your BSCF account. Only pressing Submit registration at the bottom of the form does that.
If you sign in and then leave without submitting, nothing is saved — there's no half-finished draft waiting for you. You'll know you're in this state because a gold Finish registeringbutton sits in the navigation bar at the top of every page until you're done.
After you sign up
Signing in again before you're approved shows a simple “your registration is pending” message — nothing is broken, BSCF just hasn't reviewed it yet. Once approved, you land on the homepage like anyone else, and the full site opens up: the directory, Gather, offers/needs/matches, and your profile.
