For ministry admins

Teams & Rosters

Why this page exists

A team is any standing group a ministry organizes people around — Greeters for Impact, a hospitality crew for New Life, a photography team for BSCF Events, or something with nothing to do with a Friday night at all, like a hospital-visitation group or a choir. Teams exist so “who's doing this” has a real roster behind it instead of a group text no one can find.

Who can do this

Creatinga team takes ministry coordinator/admin authority (same bar as managing that ministry's events). Managingan existing team's roster is separate — a team's own owners can do that without running the whole ministry.

Creating a team

  1. 1Go to Admin → Teams.
  2. 2Fill in New team: a name, which ministry it belongs to, and an optional description shown on its public listing.
  3. 3Create team. You're automatically its first owner.

Managing a team's roster

  1. 1Open a team from Admin → Teams (or its Manage link).
  2. 2Owners: people who can manage this team's details and roster without needing ministry-wide authority — add or remove as needed. There's always at least one.
  3. 3Roster: everyone who's joined. Anyone active can join a team themselves from its ministry page, or you can add someone here directly.
  4. 4Removing someone from the roster doesn't erase record of assignments they've already worked — it just takes them off the standing list going forward.
Good to know — a team's roster (“standing member”) is different from being assigned to work one specific event — joining Greeters doesn't sign you up for every Friday automatically. See Events & the Schedule Generator for how a ministry's recurring events pull in default teams.

Deleting a team

From the bottom of a team's page. This removes its roster and ownership — people's past assignments from working real events stay on record either way.
