For everyone

Your Profile & Privacy

Why this page exists

Your profile is two things at once: the record BSCF admins see when they're considering you for a match, and the control panel for what everyone else sees about you. Nothing here is public by default — you decide what to share, with whom, and whether BSCF may propose matches for you at all.

Editing your info

Open Profilefrom the top navigation. Upload a photo, keep your name/degree/employer/city current, and see your membership status (whether this year's dues are current).

Privacy & matching — the part that matters most

Below the main form is a separate section that controls two independent things:

  1. 1Who can see you in the Directory— nobody (admin only), students only, alumni and students, or everyone — and which specific fields show: employer, city, email, phone, spouse's name.
  2. 2Whether you're matchable— a separate switch. Turning this on is what lets BSCF admins propose mentoring matches involving your offers or needs. Turning it off doesn't hide you from the Directory; it just takes you out of the matching pool.
Good to know — these two settings are independent on purpose — you can be listed in the Directory without being matchable, or matchable without appearing in the Directory at all.
